How to Pack Your Knives for Mailing
(Simple. Safe. Takes 5 minutes.)
You do not need special packaging. Everything you need is probably already in your house.
Step 1: Clean and dry
Give your knives a quick wash and dry them well. This prevents rust during shipping.
Step 2: Protect the blades
Safety first. Wrap each knife so the blade is completely covered.
Easy options:
Newspaper or wrapping paper works best
Paper towels
Cardboard folded over the blade
Wrap snugly so no sharp edges are exposed.
Step 3: Secure the wrap
Use tape or rubber bands to keep the wrapping from sliding off.
Do not tape directly to the blade.
Step 4: Box them up
Use USPS Medium Flat Rate box or the large flat rate if shipping many items. Eight item minium for them medium size box and 16 items minimum for the large box.
Lay knives flat or diagonally.
Step 5: Stop the rattle
Fill the empty space with crumpled newspaper, paper towels, or scrap paper so nothing moves when you shake the box. This is very important. “If it aint tight, it aint right!”
Step 6: Order Form Download
Download Fillable Order Form at the bottom of this page- fill out and add to the box with knives/scissors
Step 7: Seal and ship
Tape the box and ship via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box
Tracking is included as well as $100 in insurance. You can also purchase more insurance through USPS
A quick safety note
Knives must be wrapped so they cannot cut through the box or injure postal workers. If in doubt, add another layer of paper. Easy.
